Oban Duncan racing for Team iPowerboat has been over at Port Edgar today racing around the well known Honda Youth RIB Challenge course. Oban competes in the 8-12 year old category, and was 5th out on the water, with 9 other competitors.

Oban set a fantastic time of just over 57 seconds, a time that went on to be the fastest time all day. In fact her time was so fast, she was quicker than the 12-16 year old challengers too!

Oban will now compete in the Nationa Championships at the Southampton Boat Show this September.

For 2018, iPowerboat Ltd launches iPowerboat Racing, a new, innovative and exciting development for the company. iPowerboat Racing is to be a competitive race team across different forms of powerboat racing. Initially, the company’s primary focus is on developing and increasing participation within the sport for the 9 to 18-year-old categories.

Powerboat racing, like most forms of motorsport, can become expensive before you can put a boat on a circuit. iPowerboat Racing will offer selected candidates the opportunity to race for the team over the coming years. Selected candidates will receive training, expert advice, and sponsorship. Potential powerboat racers should get in touch with us to discuss opportunities.

For 2018, iPowerboat Racing, has teamed up with it’s star, Oban Duncan. Oban has won the Scottish Regional championships for the RYA Honda Youth RIB Challenge in 2015 and 2017, coming 2nd overall in the UK National Championship. Oban will still compete for iPowerboat Racing in this event, but will extend her racing career into the GT15 championships for this coming season.

Oban Duncan, the 2015 & 2017 RYA Scotland regional Honda Youth RIB Challenge champion was representing iPowerboat Ltd and her country today at the National Championships in front of a large crowd at TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show.

Oban was first out at 09:00, and set an excellent time, in fact, her time was unbeaten for many hours. Oban's outstanding time was narrowly beaten by a competitor, and she landed herself with a very respectable 2nd place in the under 12 category.

Oban has become a fantastic ambassador for the sport, and has been invited to events in Sri Lanka, and the P1 Powerboat UK series to promote young people within the sport.

Over the past few years, Ryan has spent countless hours, and travelled thousands of miles to train Oban to helm RIB's in a fast, fun and safe manner, and we are so proud of what they have both achieved.

For 2018, we have some very special events lined up to further Oban's training. We shall up date you once things are planned.
