Twenty Twenty One.

For many it’s been a year of up’s and down’s, and that includes us too. We started the year in another lockdown, but fortunately this time around we were permitted to work through the entirety of it.

The year had some huge positives as well as many challenges. But rather than dwelling on the negatives, we’ll look at the positive things that we can be thankful for from 2021, and continue with them as we head in to 2022.

MV Katie Louise.

MV Katie Louise has had a new paint job and a fresh coat of antifoul. She’s now gone black on our top sides to match our company colours.

In the Summer of 2021, Katie Louise was relocated from her berth in Tarbert to our new training centre near Kinlochleven. This was done to streamline our training programme that we offer to our commercial clients, and to stop ourselves being spread too thin. Tarbert Harbour have been a welcoming organisation to work with, and we sure hope we can bring something back there again in the future.

Training App Feedback.

The Training App has been receiving 5 star reviews, and is now used by most students on our training course. As instructors, we have been seeing the benefits it offers to those that have attended our RYA Day Skipper and Yachtmaster theory courses. The App is free of charge and has been put together to make some of the training easier for you.

Marine Training Centre.

That’s right, and we cannot believe we are saying it… our new training centre is open! After ticking the last few boxes for the Highland Council, the premises was signed off back in November. It was anticipated that there would be a gradual opening process with only a few courses run from there before Christmas, however, the building has been flat out with people attending our training courses since the day it was opened.

The centre allows multiple courses to be run at any one time. This ensures that we can keep up with the demand. It provides clean and comfortable facilities with sensational views of Loch Leven.

For any business, building your own premises the way you want them is a dream come true. At times, it felt like the project was never going to be finished with all the supply issues associated with Covid-19 and Brexit. Our genuine thanks goes out to Glencoe Builders and all the other trades that made it happen. It is hoped that the construction of the stone pier will commence soon and be completed in 2022, with other projects on site at the design stages.

Once Covid-19 restrictions permit, there will be an official opening day where we can invite you all to visit and take a trip on our boats.

The new address is: iPowerboat Ltd, Marine Training Centre, Kinlochleven, Highland, PH50 4RL.

SQA Approval.

In 2021 iPowerboat Ltd became an SQA training centre offering the new Radar and Electronic Chart Systems courses. There was a lot of hard work involved in obtaining this, but we were delighted to get this over the finish line, and have some courses coming soon.

Twenty Twenty Two.

Looking forward, and with the new build completed, our attention can now be focused on other areas within the company.

We have lots in store, and things are already well underway with the planning stages for 2022, but at the moment, we will keep all of this under wraps until ready. Our first major update is due around April.

We look forward to working with all of our customers, new and old as well as our suppliers in the New Year. We hope 2022 brings you all a better year, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
